I have always loved making things.
In all their forms. In all their stages. In all their little imperfect beginnings.
Crafting has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, but a few years ago, I started asking myself a quiet question: What comes next?
I didn’t want this to stay “just a hobby.”
I wanted to grow. To learn. To build something meaningful.
At the time, I was refinishing my own furniture and loving every minute of it. I began sharing my projects online, and before I knew it, family and friends started asking:
“Could you do one for me too?”
That’s where Upcycled Colour Studio was born.
It came from the idea that forgotten, neglected, and ordinary things deserve a second chance.
A new life.
A new story.
A new chance to be loved.
I believe there is something beautiful about falling in love with your things all over again.

🎨 The Power of Colour
Colour makes me happy.
It changes our moods.
It shifts our energy.
It makes a space feel alive.
Sometimes, adding colour to your home is enough to make you smile the moment you walk through the door.
That love of colour led me to create home décor using both new and repurposed pieces. I chose products like Country Chic Paint and Redesigns with Prima so I could share my passion for upcycling with my community.
And that community has always been at the heart of everything I do.
⸻
🕯️ The Language of Scent
Scents affect me the same way colour does.
They tell stories.
They create comfort.
They hold memories.
I’ve always loved candles, so it felt natural to bring them into my studio. From there, I kept experimenting, learning, and expanding.
Because that’s who I am.
I’m always curious.
Always testing.
Always growing.
⸻
🧼 From Self-Care to Sharing
For years, I made bath and body products just for myself.
Milk baths.
Scrubs.
Soaps.
Little rituals of self-care.
They brought me joy.
When our shop location changed and space became more limited, I decided to share those creations with my customers. And in my heart, my customers and my community are the same thing.
These products weren’t added because they were “trendy.”
They were added because they were meaningful.
⸻
💛 Why I Do What I Do
My goal has always been simple:
To bring joy and comfort to people.
I do that through colour.
Through scent.
Through thoughtful craftsmanship.
Sometimes that looks like turning Grandma’s old hutch into something that makes you smile every time you see it.
Sometimes it’s a soothing bath and candle after a long day.
Sometimes it’s a fun car freshener that keeps you company on the road.
It’s all connected.
It’s all about creating small moments of happiness in everyday life.
⸻
🌱 Building Community Through Creativity
Right now, I’m working toward something that feels very close to my heart: community workshops.
I love making things.
But I love even more watching someone discover that they can make something beautiful too.
Whether it’s painting, candle making, or creating body products, there is something powerful about working with your hands.
It quiets the mind.
It softens the day.
It heals in small, gentle ways.
I believe art heals.
And I want to share that.
⸻
✨ Staying True
There is one thing I never want to lose:
My love of making.
I never want to rush creativity.
I never want to choose speed over care.
I never want to put profit before quality.
My promise is this:
I will always strive to offer the highest quality I can, at fair and reasonable prices.
Because I believe luxury should feel accessible.
And integrity should never be optional.

🌼 Thank You for Being Here
Whether you’ve followed my journey from the beginning or you’re just discovering Upcycled Colour Studio, I’m so grateful you’re here.
This space is about creativity.
About comfort.
About second chances.
About beauty in the everyday.
And I’m honoured to share it with you.
With love,
Joelle
